Implants

Implants: Implants are surgically placed in the jawbone and act as anchors for crowns, bridges, complete dentures or removable partial dentures.  Implants are made out of titanium and are threaded.  They act like the root of a tooth.

Implant supported crowns: An implant supported crown is a dental restoration that replaces a missing tooth by inserting an artificial titanium root into the jawbone and attaching an artificial tooth to it.

Implant supported bridge: An implant supported bridge is similar to a fixed bridge below but instead of being supported by teeth it is supported by implants.

Implant Supported Dentures: Implant supported dentures are similar to partial and complete dentures above but implants are placed in the bone under the dentures and help keep the dentures in place.  There are a wide variety of attachments and designs that retain the dentures.  They can be fixed or removable.
